What a week!
Everything was not-so-good until Monday, the first day of classes. I supposedly got the "bad" geometry teacher, though he seems alright. My Latin teacher, who's also my advisor, is pretty cool also. Latin's a lot like all the romantic languages (not sure if English is one of them, but if it isn't, then English is in there too) having an orgy, then they birth a baby. That's Latin. Technically, Latin came first, but I knew English, Spanish and French first, so there.
Geometry, so far, has been using compasses and rulers to make pretty pictures. I mean, math isn't my best subject, but I'm not that retarded. Am I?
My History teacher is a bit weird. He's very nervous, uptight, and high-strung. It's not bad, he likes me, but he's just... different.
My English teacher is a very nice guy. He's around 60 I think, and I'm definitely one of his favorite students. However, I could tie a piece of string around the beams from the ceiling on one end, and on the other end, have it tied around my wrist. It's REALLY easy. English is my best subject. There are some retards (not literally) and Asian kids in my class, so I'm not sure if they're "slowing" me down or what.
Last but not least, Physics. I've had a history of science teachers not liking me. I'm not really sure why.
OMFG!! MY PHYSICS TEACHER RULLLLEZZZZ!!! He is one of the coolest teachers ever. I made a comment to Gloria/Bella, my ffl (friend for life) as of 8/23, but I hope she doesn't repeat it. Like, I seriously think I'm his favorite student in the class (Though there's not a lot of competition, jk). Yesterday, his son snuck in when he had his back turned, (the teacher is deaf in his left ear because of an accident) and cocked his fist back, and punched him HARD in his right arm. Then he asked, "Dad, can I have some money?"
My roommate was pretty shy at first, but today we kind of bonded. He's opening up.
Today, I had nothing planned. However, Jimmy, my roommate, invited me to go to the movies and dinner with him and other people tonight in Chattanooga. I got back about 10:20 (there's a time zone switch from Sewanee to Chattanooga) and got in the "in crowd" with a lot of seniors tonight. Jamie, one of my football buddies who also quit (credited with the invention of my football nickname "Dilbert"), had his girlfriend and 3 other friends with him at dinner, and invited me to join his table. We talked and bonded over a lot of stuff, and we laughed pretty loudly. Eventually, I went to go see "Hamlet 2" while they went to a baseball game. I couldn't get into Hamlet 2, cause I'm not 17, even though I saw my first R movie when I was 5 (The Matrix), so I saw The Rocker. It was okay. I laughed a few times, and it has Rainn Wilson (Dwight from The Office) in it.
I had an hour to kill till we went back to Sewanee, so I found Jamie at the baseball game and snuck in. On my way to the stadium, I was approached by a group of rich wanksters. I said, "Hey" to them as they passed, and the lead one turned to me and said, "What did you say?" I tensed my arm, subtly flexing it, to show they don't wanna mess with me (I'm a badass) and said more tersely, "I said hey."
"Oh." The lead guy retreated. "I thought you were talking shit. I was gonna have to kick your ass." To clear this up, he was about 5'6" or 5'7" (I'm 5'9" or 5'10") and I had WAY more upper body strength than this punk did. Suuuuurrreee you were gonna kick my ass. His little gang of 8th graders (I may be a Freshman, but technically, I skipped a grade, so I should be in the 8th grade with him. However, I'm tall for my age, so it evens out) didn't scare me none, especially since right after he said that, someone at the top of the stairs screamed "DILBERT!" I turned around to find a gang of seniors coming down the stairs. You should have seen the look on his face. It was priceless. I would literally pay to see it again. So Jamie, a black guy called Dimitrius (who's really cool), a sorta chunky guy called Ian and a skinny kid with long blonde hair called Stu (who are both laid back) came down the stairs and Jamie said, "So, who are you talking to?" Like I said, priceless.
I went to see the baseball game with Jamie and got on the bus at 10:20. Then, we talked some more, playing a game about what we liked most about others (Jamie said my suaveness) and got back at 10:20.
Oh, I'm also co-authoring a story with my ffl Bella (http://uchihaxbella6.blogspot.com/) for NaNoWriMo 2008 (http://www.nanowrimo.org/). She describes the plot, which I came up with, as epic. When it's all over, I'll post a link to it if you wanna read.
Hopefully, it won't take another week for me to post another blog entry, but it just might. Having an awesome time in boarding school may be easy (for me, at least), but it's time-consuming. Also, some of you may scoff, but I'm kind of a perfectionist when it comes to any writing (that's why I can't write rough drafts), so it takes a while to flesh out a story (albeit true) on blogspot.
Well, post soon! (Hopefully!)
-Michael
